Background

Q.
Why were these bikes done?
A.
The VT1300 series is one of the most progressive production cruisers in the industry, with clean custom looking frames, aggressive tank designs, lots of negative space and an overall long and low proportion...they are unlike anything else in the cruiser segment, and appeal to those with more radical cruiser tastes. After Honda introduced the 2010 Fury, Sabre, Stateline, and Interstate, we wanted to showcase what a great platform they are for customization.

Design & Build

Who designed them?
A.
They were designed by 3 young Honda R&D designers from Honda's Southern California studio. They were given free reign to pick any VT1300 model and design a custom one-of-a-kind cruiser, while using the original basic architecture of the Honda VT1300 series.

The project criteria was simple:
1. Must maintain core concept of each VT1300 model
2. Must use as much of the stock engine, frame, and gas tank as possible
3. Must be done in 3-months (from sketch to finished model)
4. Must be ride-able
5. Each designer was encouraged to express his own personal style

Who built them?
A.
The bikes were designed and built at Honda's R&D facility in Southern California, and with the help of key aftermarket suppliers and local fabricators.

Q.
How much do these bikes cost?
A.
Each design was given a limited budget. Actual cost included many hours of labor and some custom fabrication, much like an enthusiast would do in his/her garage, so it's difficult to say exactly how much each bike cost. Our target was to create bikes that could be similarly (but not exactly) created within a reasonable budget.

Can I modify my Honda cruiser to look like this?
A.
It would be possible if your goal was to make a show bike. While many of the parts are off-the-shelf aftermarket some of them are custom one-off items straight from the minds of our young designers, these parts would not be easily duplicated but in many cases aftermarket parts are available.

Models

Q.
Is Honda going to build these?
A.
These bikes were just a design exercise to show the potential of the Fury, Sabre, Interstate. If the models prove popular you may see some of the design aspects showing up on future Honda cruiser models.

Are they ride-able?
A.
Yes, but they have not been tested to Honda's high global standards. For media requests ONLY please see PR contact below.

What shows will these bikes be at?
A.
The bikes can be seen nationwide at the remaining Progressive International Motorcycle Shows (Novi, MI Jan 7-9. Washington, DC Jan 14-16. New York, NY Jan 21-23. Cleveland, OH Jan 28-30. Minneapolis, MN Feb 4-6. Chicago, IL Feb 11-13. Greenville, SC Feb 25-27. Daytona, FL Mar 9-12).

в общем я успешно вернулся, но сильная загруженность работой не дала закончить серию. К сожалению. Попробуем наверстать

смысл в том, что машину собирали специально для этих самых гонок, и ни о каком серийном производстве речи не идет совсем. Единичный экземпляр

почитай, там написано
он для кольцевых гонок 24 часа

И тут противостояние Honda и BMW :)

обновил, по Hybrid R пока не нашел
судя по всему мощи практически не добавило (нулевики, прямотоки...)
Самым интересным из всей подборки HPD CR-Z Racer — там турбочаржер и перешитый IMA, но он не для дорог :(

ага, у меня первая зима когда не парился с парковкой — приехал во двор, выбрал сугроб поменьше, и запарковался — «места» всегда есть!

А если по теле — это пипец какой-то — как всегда зима пришла внезапно и совершенно неожиданно выпал снег в конце января…

а у нас ее по моему никогда раньше мая не ждали…

В чем проблема??? Ставь в нее К20 и наслаждайся!!!

ну а че, трайки все бльше и больше в виде концептов появляются… а учитывая большой опыт разработки и продвижения (зачастую с большим риском, на грани фола) мототехники у Хонды — может что и получится путевое!
